Standard 10 Teachers are connected with other teachers and the community. The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well being and acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner.
Rationale 1: This evidence shows how committed my school district is to both using technology and staying connected with other teachers in the other buildings. This wikispace was designed this year and has been used in one of the in-service days in my district. All teachers were required to log into the wikispace, read one of three articles about the importance of technology in schools, and then use the Discussion tool on the wikispace to reflect on the article. After these three steps were completed, every teacher was asked to reply to two other teachers in the Discussion area. This site has also been used to send out district wide announcements.

I am committed to integrating technology into my own curriculum, but to also sharing my ideas with other teachers in my district. The MSD wikispace allows me to reach out to others and contribute to the goals of my district.
10.S.1 The teacher participates in collegial activities designed to make the entire school a productive learning environment. Most of my district’s in-service days for the past year have been dedicated to technology incorporation. Because of my background, I have been able to contribute in many ways. Not only have I added a YouTube video about wikispaces to my school’s wikispace for others to see, I also taught a basic Microsoft PowerPoint class for one of our “Tech Café” in-service days.
10.D.3 The teacher is willing to consult with other professionals regarding the education and well being of his/her students. Earning my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology has revived my love of teaching. Incorporating new digital devices and technological methods into my own curriculum has brought on new excitement for both me and my students. I am also committed to sharing my ideas with other professionals in my district. The MSD wikispace will provide me the opportunity to inspire my fellow educators in the future.
